Programme Overview
provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the Accounting field in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, and financial management. The degree also provides a solid foundation for postgraduate study or further qualification with professional bodies e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Institute of Taxation. teaches you on how to manage and run businesses. Topics such as Strategic Management, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Business Mathematics and Statistics, Banking, Commercial Law, and Information Technology among others will be taught along the way. In the end, you’ll learn the ropes of how to become a successful business person. Your passion may be dancing, creating computer programmes, or playing basketball. Whatever your skill set and interests, there’s a business side to the equation! Think about it — business is part of the language we use when we talk about the entertainment industry, project financing, and sports marketing. Everything has a “business” side to it — every industry needs accountants, marketers, managers, financial analysts, and technology support staff … in other words, business majors!
Domestic Requirements
WASSCE
An applicant for admission to a degree programme at Academic City University must have, at a minimum, credits (A1–C6 in WASSCE or A–D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, as well as credits in three relevant elective subjects.

O’ Level
An applicant for admission to a degree programme at Academic City University must have credit passes in three (3) relevant subjects at the ‘A’ Level and passes in five (5) subjects at the ‘O’ Level, including English and Mathematics. *Subject to GTEC evaluation.


A minimum average of 50% in all subjects is required. Mathematics and English Language are mandatory. *Subject to GTEC evaluation.

A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or 2.5 on a 5.0 scale is required. Mathematics and English Language are mandatory. *Subject to GTEC evaluation.

A minimum overall average of 50% is required. Mathematics and English Language are mandatory. *Subject to GTEC evaluation.
